Creating a Star
« on: November 27, 2012, 10:43:03 AM »
I am trying to build a Solar System based on one from a game. However, When i change for example, the suns MASS, the diamater and/density automatically change as well. And it only allows me to lock only one of those options at a time. Why can't i make a star how i want it to be?

Try messing with the luminosity and temperature while locking the mass, and yes the current way of doing it is clunky and is kind of a hassle.

Hopefully it will be much easier in Ubox3

the mass, density and diameter are all interrelated, so having them not depend on each other would be like saying that obese people are visually thinner but are heavier than a healthy human.

to set the mass, density, and volume of any object that is correctly worked out:

first adjust the mass, while having either density or diameter matched.
then adjust the density, while keeping mass locked.
the diameter will automatically be correct if your source is correct
