All these stats start at layer 1 and go up to layer 17.


Basically, if you want diamonds and hate lava, mine at head level 12. If you want diamonds and don't care about lava, mine at head level 7. If you want lapis and don't care much for diamonds, mine at head level 14.

This is an analysis of 36 million blocks over 18 layers, so i'd say it was pretty accurate.

Yes, it's accurate for an average, but as each chunk generates differently, it will vary by location.

yeah, also ore can spawn on level 0. I found a coal vein of 6 there, but no diamond veins or other. if i expand the world a couple times larger i might. Anyway, the level 10 has the most diamonds is completely wrong. if you don't mind lava level 6-7 is the best to dig at.

also fiah, it was only 7809. Blacraft i estimate is about 10 times as large as this world.
