A tune inspired by US
« on: May 19, 2011, 06:25:15 AM »
I thought i'd try writing a little piece of music to play in the background when using Sandbox.
originally it was just going to be a short loop, but i kinda got carried away :)

Software used: Reason 5 by propellerheads. (around 4 hours to construct. it's not really fair to say write because I can't play any instrument and can't read music, but I've got plenty of ideas in my head :)

I wish US had some better camera controls so we could create real epic animations.
anyways hope you enjoy

Then why did you even post? Anyway, it seems kind of like isolationist music.

Rofl. It's easy to mistake between the United States and Universe Sandbox.

That is a really awesome tune ChemicalBr0.

It reminds me of X-com geoscape music!

Great work keep it up.

thanks.
music to go with spacey stuff is usually all the same... slow breathy female choirs and big string pads.
it's a pretty simple little tune really.
just the same chords layered over one and other with different voices..
6 synths in total a drum machine and some effects bits n bobs.
(all virtual synthesized instruments, not a sample in sight :))

I'm glad you liked it.
it was a nice step away from the kinda stuff i usually do (techno trance/rock/punk danceism... I just made that genre up right there :))

and i remember the X-com games. used to play them on my old amigas.. (still got an amiga 1200 in the loft with a box full of about 2000 disks, x-com will no doubt be in there too)

Nice job. It's exciting and humbling to be a part of creative inspiration. And I bet you learned quite a bit during the composition process.

thanks Dan.

the only thing with creative inspiration is that for me it usually takes me away from the thing that inspired me in the 1st place

since doing this tune it's re ignited my passion for Reason and making music.
I've hardly used sandbox in about a month as all i've been doing is making new tunes.
I'll post some mp3's later for opinions.
