Solar Flares

You know, I wonder...will the solar flares ever be worked on to look better? At the moment they're very low poly with gradients to make them look like gas. I mean, that's good if you have a lot of objects in the simulation and won't be close to the sun much, but what about when you have a planet pretty close to the star or you want to get transit pictures or something? The surface granulation is great (sizes could be worked on but I'm sure that's part of the new stellar evolution model you guys are working on...right?) but the flares seem kinda lacking. Also, what about sunspots, I think they were present at some point, but I don't think so anymore? nd even the ones that were present kinda looked weird...
