Okay.

Maybe Alpha 7 or should have the ability to simulate continental drift?

Continental drift sounds like something they'd do after the main release.

I notice that the screenshots don't show the actual impacts, just the aftermath.

Dude I thought this was the legit release thread, why have more pages of pure speculation.. Not cool, just wait.

:'( I suggested that a long time ago and no one acknowledged. Of course Cosmos is getting the praise now.

But anyway,I agree with smmjames, this might even be something out of the foreseeable future.

Continental drift ? This feature would take a bunch of RAM! :-\

you know anything about the release date of the alpha 7?
I think that will be the best upgrade of alpha  ;)

I think they should add planets with vegetation / animal, with some kind of life if you have the right conditions to its star, size, temperature and water. It would be nice

Well, any gamer would know that a lot of objects/calculations to be made by a computer takes RAM processor space. I have an 8-GB RAM, meaning my computer can handle 8 GB of calculations at a time. Continental drift would be, to say the least, impractical. It's a very complicated feature and would have millions of bugs to start with. It's just not acheavable for most computers.

Yes, I thought about adding a slider for vegetation level. I'm not sure how you would represent faunal life on a planet, though. Perhaps another slider for intensity of city lights? That would be something I would really like to see.

I don't understand what exactly it is you want as a feature, but I was thinking maybe there could be something called "Civilization Evolution On/Off" where the city lights keep getting intense and when they reach maximum city lights appear on nearby bodies and perhaps automatic terraformation.

Thats not a bad idea, rather see life grow gradually rather than city lights just appear.

continental drift wouldn't be impossible.

computations themselves don't take a large amount of memory, the memory is just required to store the representation of the continental plates or whatever is being simulated. as with climate, where you can have a zero-dimensional model, one-dimensional model, or even a three-dimensional grid simulation, there are various levels of complexity that can be used to model continental drift. if you went with a very crude representation, the computational effort and memory used would be minimal.

since this seems like a space oriented simulation, i'd be more interested in features like the ability to view in different wavelengths and perhaps view objects like lyman alpha blobs

Oh yes, different light filters would be cool. Also to add polarised light?  And maybe have a model generator where you can make your own models for spacecraft and bombs?

Exit?
[supposed to be read with a friendly tone] I think you mean release. Hang on, man! You're asking this question everyday! Let it take its time, if you want it to be less buggy and more awesome, wait!

I will like if in alpha 7 the climate simulation of ice and snow occurs on all rocky planets
