Small Background Glitch
« on: May 22, 2009, 08:28:50 PM »
I've noticed that when you change the camera view, not panning, changing the angle in place, there is an unusual line that pops up about 3/5 up the screen ::). This is hard to see but is easily visible when it is over the nebulas on the milkyway background. Once again this is a small glitch and does not impair game play. So Dan you go ahead and fix the other problems before you fix this. Its really hard to notice. This is a great game so I really don't think it matters, this is just in case you didn't notice.

Can you take a screenshot and send it to me?

It's real easy.

- Make the bug show up on screen
- Press F12 to take a screenshot.
- Click on the Feedback button
- Type in "Visual bug mentioned in forums" (or something to remind me what this this)
- Check the box "Include Universe Sandbox..." (it will automatically be the last screenshot taken)
- Click Send

Thanks for letting me know.

Sorry, it pops up easily on an empty system, but when I take the screenshot and time pauses momentarily the line disappears. And since that happens the video option would be worthless because it works off of screenshots so I guess you will have to try it yourself. I even checked my screenshots under My Documents and they are clear. So I wrote the instructions on how to cause the line to appear above. But don't look for a big glitch. Like I said it is very small, and I don't recommend wasting time on trying to figure out how to fix this. I only brought it up for your awareness.

Just want to clarify that the line is not colored, it's just like a strange folded spot the appears on the background.

May I suggest ALL capture, that should be able to record the screen and then you can take a screenshot of the playback.

OK I found an easy way to identify the glitch and it seems it happens with objects too.

1) Make the sun.
2) Zoom in all the way.
3) Focus on space, not sun.
4) Very quickly right click on space and rotate the camera.
5) The object seems to be offline at the point where the background is wrinkled.
