compressed air is less dense than a stone, no? And its lighter. there's no way around that. The formula for density is mass/volume=density The microwave has to be decently sized so that neutrinos can hit it. also very dense, which means very heavy. no loopholes.

You could stick an antigrav device under it, but I doubt that would change it's mass. Stopping it would be like trying to stop a Mack Truck with your face or something once it got alot of momentum.

it would be hard to start it moving, thus no danger of it moving too fast to stop. you'd have to manufacture the material "on site" the site would be your kitchen :P

The potential is there, but yes it would either need a LOT of force applied to get it moving that fast or get placed on an incline.

move it? don't need to move it. i dunno, i don't move microwaves on a regular basis.

We're talking about a PORTABLE microwave, not one that just sits on your kitchen counter or installed.

i'm talking about a stationary one then now. Although i wonder how you're supposed to turn it off it it uses neutrinoes...

I would call it an "impact event" because a meteorite isn't much to worry about unless it hits you on the head... An asteroid (remember 2008 TC3 was 3 m in diameter) would be a better term, but that's only the object.

So, impact event. It's a disaster, and natural.

You get a special lead room in your house that shields the X-ray radiation, so that you get free cooking.

Lead rooms ain't that healthy. Lead is poisonous, btw. So if you somehow touched some and put your finger on your food and eat the food, you might get sick.

actually, anything will stop x-rays, (nearly). the more dense, the more stopping power.

Arn't some materials better? When I go to the dentist, for teeth x-rays, I wear this weird heavy no-sleave shirt. Same thing at the hospital.

They say it's lead. I'm not sure... it feels almost like a liquid. I deduced that it was powdered lead or a lead compound. A very fine powder.

They aren't "lying", are they really going to tell some kid "it's got finely-crushed lead sulfate and lead oxide in it"?

They have something thick covering the lead. Also, people do it like once every half year. Even if you go to the dentist more then 2 times an year, they would not take it again

le world is going to end on 12/21/12, not because whatever fooey reasons some fanatic made up, but because there's going to be mass panic, the world economy shall crash, and once everyone realizes the world hasn't ended, they'll kill to survive.

Some people are 100% serious about this, you know. They might be buying an underground mine for nothing. There even is a TV show aroind 1-3 that tells how to prepare for it.
