I'm wondering here because I think I've found an interesting phenomenon, but since I don't know how to set up a movie (and don't have Fraps), I'm thinking of using the screenshot capture, but maybe I'll just press ctrl+F12 at intervals.

the movie feature doesn't show the UI? strange. try hypercam? i think its free. Also *curious* about what u found.

Haven't tried the movie feature just yet, I'm also looking around in search in case what I'm observing has already been found (doesn't look like it, or at least nobody posted about it).

....teeeeeeeel meeee!
also the movie feature is quite nice.
prepare for a lot of images and enough storage space (my x25 galaxy collision i ran for 12 hours took 100k+ images)
you use a program (forgot which one i used) and it turns the images into a video in a couple hours. Then you delete the images and tada!
but yea, fraps or any similar program is generally easier.

Okay, yea I'll try the movie feature, it won't be a 12 hour video though, heh. Photobucket should be able to host the video, I think....
Edit: Hrm, it also said error writing file.....
Edit2: I guess I'll need to get fraps, I thought you had said that I can just delete the files and it somehow makes a video.
Edit3: Ah pfft, now I know what the error was, it errored at me when I tried to include a question mark in the savename, so I lost the save when I closed the program to make the error message go away. So I'll just resort to using screenshots :P Unless you can remember what the program was you used.
Edit4: Just found out the windows live essentials has an utility that can do what you were talking about.

You have an option called "capture screenshot every (x) frames" or something, where you can set x. I think it's 5 by default, but just increase it and you won't get image overflow, plus it will make the simulation a lot faster.

It was easier to actually show what I was observing by going frame by frame anyways. I did speed the video up when I used Windows Essentials photo and video editor (maybe that's what Mudkipz used?).
My origional question still hasn't been answered, unless it's not possible to get it to show the UI at this time other than using ctrl+F12 or some other program like Fraps or Hypercam.

fraps shows the UI
