As I said in the title, I'm not quite sure what to call this.
So, I was messing around with planets and stars, when I noticed the background was white. I didn't notice until then, but I decided to zoom out, to see if there was something there.
Then. I see this. ITS HUGE. I zoomed out quite a lot to see this. To be accurate, I think I saw this appear when I smashed two suns into each other. More specific, I launched both suns AT each other using 8 on the keyboard. Has this happened to anyone else? My Log file is attached at the bottom.

The stars exploded. It's a supernova remnant.
-
It's kind of a placeholder for the planetary nebula when solar mass stars die.
-
the thing about supernova is that to see one i have to speed up the time step a lot and then boom, i pass it

A planetary nebula is a different thing.

I'm not sure if its a supernova remnant, but I think it makes the most sense. Just one question, why is it grey? Is it a texture error or something? Also, forgot to mention, its sort of a 2D object, it turns with my camera. I can never see the back.
-
My guess is that it's 2D and grey because it's some sort of placeholder graphic.

I have made sun-mass stars "explode" and they don't turn into huge glitchy white blobs

This was a collision.
