I won't stop being annoying until someone adds sounds in US. It may be an intro tune or a pop sound when you open a window, but please, it needs sounds.
-
There is no sound in space, so it would be unrealistic. The only thing they could add is music.

Intro tune, sure.
Pop sound? Please, no.

Screw realism! Plus bounce mode is unrealistic and it's still there. Also imagine how cool sounds would be for smashing asteroids around gad giants!
As far as music goes, I think there should be multiple tune choices inbetween calm, techno, exciting, and piano.
Or a choice to put your own music in.

Screw realism!
No.

There is no sound in space! :P

YES!
if the game would become unrealistic ;)

YES!

But it would make the game so much cooler. Have the default sounds off and music is default off.

if this was all about realism you wouldn't be able to see anything if you just placed a planet. you'd need a star
-
That because you have the button "Phantom Sun" activated ;)

Besides, even if you placed a star , you would barely be able to see the planet.

What?
Plus, as the game page says, "Universe Sandbox is about breaking the rules as much as following them."
Why should we be confined to realism?

Because realism is confined to you.

How about we let Dan and Co. decide on sound?
-
so dan gets to decide twice while everyone else once?
-
Hahahahahaha.
Maybe. Yes..
-
You've got a point
-
The sounds will be like... Collisions... omg...

Hmmm... Everyone is using "Dan and Co." because of me now. Awesome, this is the first trend started by an AI.
The sounds will be like... Collisions... omg...
No, really? A simple explosion sound would do, In my opinion.
-
Yes there will be sound effects (booom!) and music.
Yes there will be user interface sound effects.
When? I can't say, but soon. We are experimenting.
-
It would be nice if you could turn off specific sounds or even change the sound you want for it. I certainly don't want to hear a "pop" as Gabriel wants. Not that I'm hating on you, I just don't think everyone wants to here a pop. Wait, don't you think a pop sounds too childish? Meh, these are just my thoughts.

Exactly!

Uh, what?

what you said ;)

I changed my mind. Actions don't seem to need sound, just collisions, hose, and explode seem to really need sound. Action sounds seem too cliché and overdoing it. Other than that music would be nice. And of course the option to put your own music.
-
IMO having sounds in space wouldn't be realistic, but yeah, having an option to turn such sounds on or off would satisfy both sides.

Oh, it is nice to know that! Cool, cool. And thanks to wubbzy301 for bumping my thread.
Oh and just a note to some people in this thread: I know there are no sounds in space. If you read my OP, you'll see that none of those sounds are sounds that would be in space

We know this people! Sounds are just additives you don't need but would be awesome anyway. Why not add them?

You can hear sound effects from collissions in the alpha 7 preview here at 4:47.
And at 8:56 is how it sounds when sped up x4. :P

This is a lovely start, but it would be better if collisions didn't sound like popcorn under a blanket made of thick metal.

Yes! My prayers have been answered. Sounds of collisions isn't what I was on my mind, exactly. However they are still cool. Also, when you add water on a planet, a splashing sound would be nice.
Oh, and can you guys record a video with higher quality? I do want to read the menu of the "powers" section. (Edit: Nevermind, it was a problem with my PC)
I'm so excited for Alpha7. Once again, good job!

Yay, but it will be more awesome if the planet hits the other planet, and wait few seconds until sounds are started. (distance please.)
Also I hear popcorn, and I don't want popcorn sounds, I need impact sounds.

...because the speed of light in a vacuum seems to fast to you?
Wonder which value would be correct ;-)

What in Bla's video is less than a day of work... lots more work to do to make them awesome like they should be.

I think he was talking about a delayed sound as an effect. you know, to be badass
