When I think of fantasy my mind usually redirects me to a world that i've always been imagining about. For me, fantasy isn't really about middle earth kindgoms with magic and dwarves or whatseva, my perception of fantasy is a sort of space opera fantasy with new worlds to explore and stuff and yeah.

So basically you have crazy scientists and advanced technologies, many races on different planets around the solar system, and unrest because the races are now spacefareing and using fantasy technology sort of josteling for control of the solar system.

That may seem strange but that's my idea of fantasy.

Isn't this what they call science fiction?

You can still have sci-fi in the flavour you described and have it labelled Sci-fi, but fantasy is generally applied to settings on the ground that use pre-modern age technology or magic.
Although, some fantasy settings can get this weird mix of modern and ye olde that I don't really like the look of. Usually happens when people make a lot of anachronisms.
I personally also hate rule-of-cool stuff like ridiculous armour and oversized weapons.

tldr I'm boring
