If thickness 1, can we agree that all the pixels must connect in the internal borders?

I say 2:1
but 4096*2048 will be a little crowded unless we all desize our nations

If we contiNUEs with the old resolution?

Water Border: 2 px and black

Nation frontiers: 1 px and darker grey

Inside nation division: 1 px and grey

Inside nation divisions division: 1 px and light grey
(Ex.: Issamoria have an federated republik inside it. The states of this federated republik will be marked with 1px borders in light grey)

But and the thickness? :P

select the inside of nations with magic wand
expand selection by 1 pixel
paintbucket it white.
The internal borders will be gone :P

Oh, and if we make an wiki?
Like this http://pt.anama.wikia.com/wiki/P%C3%A1gina_principal?
And the map will be like this?

Well a resolution such as 5010x2505 would approximate to 8km per pixel, because earth is around 40000 pixels wide.
I'm sure we can make a power of 2 work.

woo throwing out all my history :| :/
because scaling your nations changes history in some way?

Oh look a 1x1 m map of the US. Oh look a 1x1 foot map of the US. The Civil War never happened! And we got independence in 1875! Oh and Mexico has California and Arizona!

Freaking imperial system WHAT DID YOU DO?!?!

Koltomic.

Well 4096x2048 was meant because it's a power of two. Dan said textures which are a power of two look or load better in Ubox so I guess there are some general benefits of using that. 5010x2505 seems pointless imo, might as well be 5000x2500 so it's easier. This planet doesn't have to be (exactly) the same size as Earth.
The closest other powers of 2 would be 8192x4096, which seems too big imo, or 2048x1024, which seems too small.

I really like the 2:1 aspect of the map, though. This should make the reason fairly obvious. The green is a line which would follow the height of the image. The red line would follow the width:

bla do we seriously want to put this world into us2? i thought nobody but fiha and hell used us2 anymore. the 1:1 aspect for each hemisphere, east and west, still means that the total map is 2:1 ratio.

so I guess there are some general benefits of using that. [not just in Ubox 2]
Anyway, I still use Ubox, and I plan to use it more after the next update.

I prefer a map with everything combined. We could have a 4096x2048 map be the official one and then people could make larger maps of their own nations with more detail but the general shapes following our world map. I don't really like the idea of making seperate hemisphere maps.

I think a spreadsheet Excel-style would be good for organizing the polls and votes. Something like this.

Actually it'd probably be better to swap the rows/columns, and have result be the first column to make it easier to quickly see all the polls.

added, just waiting for smjjames and naru523.

the 'yes first', and 'yes second' should have the same value and will only be used to decide the winner in a tie.
