But is there any point in having 2 votes to begin with? If you only have 1 vote, then we can just remove all the options with 0 votes and make a new poll. Instead of giving people the ability to pick even more options.
That doesn't even make sense. If people choose the same options as last time then you might as well have not started a new poll in the first place. A first option, second option thing is good.
The idea was that if the results nobody wanted are removed and people know what each other want already, people may be more likely to compromise and pick new options which they know other people also want, if their first vote wasn't popular and unlikely to win.
So I don't agree with the premise "If people choose the same options as last time" which you use to declare my idea completely nonsensical.
Also I was a bit too fast to write remove everything with 0 votes, you could also remove everything with 1 vote if there are options with 2 votes or more. That was what I wanted, my bad for not expressing that.
But whatever, just use the other system, it was probably better and I don't see any reason to contribute to discussions if people respond to my ideas like that anyway.
