Glowstone and obsidian.

So I heard something happened to Border Hill...

Too neat to be a creeper explosion....

Are you making a tower over there or something?

Kol, yes, I'm going to build Fort Kolkhoz, which will be a combined fort and base for the Border Hill Farms. It will get a cargo line to Spawntown Public Storage too, somewhen, I think.

Cool. Although in order for a cargo line to really be effective, we'd need that cart plugin working again.

Looks like Blacraft as a whole is slowly becoming industrialized, what with Mudkipzs and Narus quarries.

Even though the sheep farm pens look complete, I'm in the middle of resizing them.

Speaking of industrialization, I was considering making an environmental organization which develops methods for environmentally friendly developments, like mining deserts without making the landscape barren, and makes laws regulating different things like preservation of lava lakes etc.
Regions could voluntarily become members.

What are peoplethink?

kol, ok, as long as it isn't mandatory. i like the wrecked-desert/deforested-forest/exploded-whatever look. You can always walk a little bit and there are tons of wilderness. i think it'll be a long time before the server is buildings and quarries solid for kilometers around. Preservation of things is fine but shouldn't go too overboard, and should allow non-member states to develop their region pretty much freely.

oh yeah and deserts are pretty much the definition of barren :P

It won't be mandatory, so ofc the most important part will be researching environmentally friendly methods and making them publicly available.
Imo it's nice to not have a ruined landscape around your cities though. I think ruined and exploited landscapes look terrible. Cities look nice though, and so does natural landscapes (or terraformed ones).

well sometimes i get tired of looking at miles and miles of minecraft landscape. What do you mean by ruined landscape? I think a deforested landscape is not too bad, just looks like rocky plains biome. Quarried area looks impressive/large, not too bad.

Sand quarries and dirt quarries do look ugly, but i'm too lazy to be bothered to cover it up :P

Also i heard the best environmental way to stop mining into save systems and destroying their natural ecosystems while you strip mine, is to instead, take all the blapis you want by mining Bla.

Yes, sand quarries were mostly what I meant. :P
But also drained/(half)flooded lavalakes, half-burned forests with floatwood and randomly mined terrain.

Also, NO, MINING BLAS IS NOT ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY, THEY MIGHT GO EXTINCT. They are an endangered species.

I herd there was only one Bla, so the species is pretty much doomed unless you can binary fission or reproduce with yourself....i suggest we clone a bla and then mine them all :)

ChromaSheep farms 80% complete, just have to dye the sheep, do some breeding (gotta get more wheat though), decorative details, torches and a storage shed/sleeping shelter.

I'm also thinking of completely redoing that tower thingy nearby. Also, I have a station set up, but its real basic and not to regulations atm.

Its fine to have a stockpile anyways. Also the border hill farm only had one section planted and I put the extra seeds into one of the other plots when I replanted.

IMO the Forssa one works better.

With this little toy Naru's 100k m^3 quarry would be finished in less than 12 hours, my 400k m^3 quarry finished in under 2 days. A typical quarry could be finished in 20 minutes :P (10x10x50)

this particular excavator would probably stretch from one end of spawntown to the other end easily :P

oh and best of all, it's irl.

I don't think I will remove any land before the terrain generation changes again. And I don't remove land just because someone doesn't need it. :P

Edit: It could actually be a good idea to cut it to get rid of the chunky borders... I'm not sure.

Idc. The terrain generator decides how the terrain should be, not us. If you don't like the terrain, change it. :P

Ok, we could remove  this part of the terrain if you want it. Please vote in the poll.

Here's an image of the results from the last poll.
