Well, I wanted a wide doorway since its supposed to be a Great Library, you know, looking a bit fancy and all.

Also, spider spawned again in the same spot at the entrance, inside, even doing its up and down animation right by the entrance. There are torches on both sides of the entranceway, so logically, it shouldn't even be able to spawn in the first place, and its daytime to boot.

It was inside the building and the doors were closed, theres no way it could have come from outside. I'm fairly sure I can rule out nighttime since I had done sleep right at sunset, so there wasn't time for it to have spawned outside.

Been a spider each time. Not counting the creepers, of which I haven't seen again.

I am suspecting maybe some kind of chamber below the area which mobs are trying to spawn, but somehow get pushed to ground level, but haven't gotten around to investigating.

if its a spider always, probably dungeon maybe and somehow glitched inside.

I suggest you replace the floor with obsidian and proceed to nuke the entire underside of this mob-infested desert!

Lol.

Although, wouldn't I have heard mob noises or cave noises? Going to investigate after this dusk reset.

Edit: Hrm, maybe I can use that trick using trees to make a window underground (provided the tree cooperates) to take a look.

the glitch where you are half in a block and half out of it which allows you to see underground? that would be considered as nonlegit i think.

Okay... trees not cooperating then. @Bla before you yell at me: Its just using a quirk of the game and it really isn't a very pratical way of seeing underground and is not quaranteed to work 100% of the time. I did do it once before to check it out and attempted again to see underground near the lighthouse, but the tree didn't do what I wanted it to do, haven't used it again since.

the glitch where you are half in a block and half out of it which allows you to see underground? that would be considered as nonlegit i think.

I only used it once when I read about it and was just checking it out (and again at the lighthouse with no success). It was in Kaeshar, so there wasn''t anything new to reveal. I'm not interested in exploiting that and it's not a very pratical way of seeing underground.

Anyways, I dug some investigation tunnels and found nothing.

Theres another  thing I could try, and thats waiting until nighttime and see whether anything spawns.

Record noted.

Anyways, I waited until nighttime and nothing spawned inside.

For the exploration tunnels, I went about 16 blocks underground at the lowest.

Whoa, smjjames, those trees are really tall. Did you get them hat tall on the first try?

Yes.

Kol so i thought it'd be nice to be able to classify areas based on how mob-proofy they were.

So i maded this.

https://docs.google.com/document/pub?id=1qeBRUkmxv_1z9Z_93EGXmnXB3YBdI8M6eqED1CtO9-8

So for example, Spawntown would be like

F-III

while the mob factory would be like

B-VII

Desertopia like

E-III

my wheatfarm(s) would be

E-II

The public rails are about

F-I

Most houses are

B-I or B-II

A creeper spawned in the building again, this time on the second floor, which as far as I can tell, is mob proofed mob spawn wise. So it shouldn't even have spawned in the first place. It was to the right (facing the ladder) of the ladder chute when I came up the ladder and exploded (the creeper, not me) shortly afterwards.

Could large patches of light 8 areas allow mobs to spawn? I do have those patches, but no light level 7 squares on the floor.

Why the hell am I having problems with mob spawns in this thing?.......

EDIT: I think I know now what the problem is because a zombie just spawned which could only have come from the large patch of light level 8 a few blocks from me. Frikking light 8 zones not making any sense here....... I thought hostile mobs could not spawn on tiles with a light level of 8? At least thats what the wiki says....

Anybody got ideas for this space here? The building is 99% complete and while I could just leave it as open space, I'm just seeing if anybody has any ideas for style input.

Or a shallow pond since there isn't room for lava? I kind of like that idea actually :)

It'd be nice if the lilypads had the occasional flower on them as they'd make good decoration for pools.

Lol, I meant that there would be lava below the water with glass over the lava and then water, that could be a true hot tub. Or burning netherrack.

If you do make this, please add some benches so I can enjoy watching people getting boiled to death. :)--- I mean... Some benches would fit that project...

!!! Add a row of cactus benches and a row of wooden ones, yes. Watching Kipzes getting poked by cacti to death would add tremendously to the quality of entertainment

Something is wrong with the server, me and Kipz were having severe server lag, I restarted app to see if it'd help, but now I'm unable to even connect to the server.

Edit: we were both able to get back on, apparently.

Escaped pig in the quarry, wat?

Edit: I took it back to the livestock pen a bit later. Also, Naru, why do you have the PUBLIC storage ore and metals chest locked?
