The reason why your income is very low is because your tax rate is very low. 45% maximizes income in PT.

Blaist Blaland's income: 174,845,522 monies/day

The only risk a low happiness brings is the chance of stuff like revolt, but a 45% isn't enough to make that happen.

Here are some laws that boost happiness:

UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION ACT
NATIONAL PRIDE ACT
E-DEMOCRACY IMPLEMENTATION ACT
INDUSTRIAL WASTE MITIGATION ACT
SEMI-UNIVERSAL SUFFRAGE
NUCLEAR APOCALYPSE PREPARATION ACT

Happiness affects a lot of your other stats like growth etc. However, I'm almost certain that in all cases, 45% tax rate is ideal to ensure the fastest growth, both economic and population. Because lots of money lets you also buy lots of land and cities, boosting your growth more than a slightly higher, natural pop growth would with a lower tax rate.

Anyway, in the end, it's your choice if you'll prioritize immediate happiness or growth/future potential in the game.

I hate how slow games like these are. dafuq do I have to wait 24 hours for another law? at least passing Equal Pay was kinda easy. next up is Offender Rehabilitation.

I

should I just

Sell 50% of all my resources for money? I'm bad at marketing.

Lovechild, I see you have 0% tax rates, I suggest setting them up so your money don't slowly deplete.
45% personal tax rate and 100% corporate maximizes income.

Personally I like the slow pace of Project Terra. It aims for "total realism" but I think it's much too fast for that - it's been like 3 months since we started but my population has already quadrupled. Not realistic.
The pace makes it nice to play the game casually over months or years.

I

should I just

Sell 50% of all my resources for money? I'm bad at marketing.
If you want to earn money from the market, place sell offers for the resources you don't need underbidding the best offer (if it's significantly big, and not like 5 or 10 concrete).
At the same time, place buy offers on the same resources to fill your storages again, overbidding the highest buy offer, if there's a significant price difference between the buy and sell offers.

As such it doesn't really matter to me which are my resources and which are from the market. It's all just about selling and buying as many resources as possible, at as big price differencies as possible, while still spending those you need on your own nation. :P

the thing is I'd like to get some really progressive ideas through... the way I see it I'm not losing money fast enough to require taxes yet. do correct me if I'm wrong. I saw you guys had some difficulties getting things through so first I'd like to focus on income inequality. after that idk. was gonna do rehabilitation but I think that one can wait since it's less progressive.

also: considering that my election will be held after the next law is voted in, I thought it would be good to expand on my existing policies, kinda.

so far I have minimum wage and equal pay laws enacted. tried to enact a socialism one but it didn't pass.

the ones in line next, in order, are:

UN Declaration on Human Rights
Foreign Investment Inducement Act
Universal Suffrage
Free Higher Education Act

good choices y/n?

still haven't set taxes, jsyk. I'll be doing that soon but not yet. I'd like to get a few more policies through first... and losing only 3 million per day I can afford the time.
