I think this started back on Alpha 11 or 12 but sunspots never form on any star

I occasionally get natural dark brown spots on the sun without collisions, but they are relatively rare.

I get them occasionally also, but I do not see them too often. I do see the surface will get relatively dark, but not dark enough to be a sunspot. They should make them occur more often  :P UniverseSandbox2!!!!!
