The rules don't say anything about how long time you should have if you take an invalid turn... Officially it'd expire after three days, but it seems a little bit unfair when you did in fact make a map during your turn, which just happened to include a mistake.
But, the rules could also be abused. If you keep getting extra time after each invalid turn, a player could have an infinitely long turn. It could be made so that you could have up to one extra day added to your turn, from the moment you're informed about the fact that your map just failed. What do you think?
