Altered perspective

Hello, first-time user of Universe Sandbox and this is my first post.

I've just started an astronomy course and thought it might be useful to "land" on a planet and observe the night sky from the perspective of someone standing on the surface looking up. I would then use the built-in features to zoom in/out, speed up time etc. Is this possible using Universe Sandbox? Or, are there other SIMs out there that I might use?
