Queen Idelle the Magnificent was the third empress of the Nokhtan empire, Zilviana. She rose to power at the age of sixteen after her mother, Iola, abdicated from the throne in favor of her eldest daughter and from supposed terminal illness. It was only a few days into her reign did her mother pass out; the imperial funeral was held in deep somber, and Idelle’s father, Sivik, under traditional customs, carved a symbol of the imperial rose on her hand in remembrance of her mother. The ingredients in the carving was supposedly an imperial secret; some speculate that it was a mixture of flowers and sacrificial offerings.
In a few years, her power was held in deep respect by other political entities and nations; leading her own armies on the battlefield, she was never touched for some time, save an arrow scratching her cheek by an Unuvi archer during the War of the Mireane. The land of Zilviana expanded especially towards the north, as her popularity in her own lands spread to neighboring Nohktan nations - she even gained the vassalage of the Lautikvs, whose mystical powers in crafts was among the most advanced in western Pangaea. However, resistance was held by those living in the southwest and southeast; the Iralians and Unuvis. In conquests that took several years, the Iralians were conquered under Zilvianan power, keeping them in check with (initially) large regiments due to minor skirmishes occurring too frequently. However, the Unuvis managed to remain independent - mainly due to their advantage on being islanders and master sailors in contrast to the land-based Nohktans. This eventually led to a truce being held by both peoples for sometime, which lasted until the Great Migration, as the Nokhtans soon focused on their own internal problems and attempting to expand within their own subcontinent.
