My Ideas
« on: August 26, 2014, 10:03:27 AM »
I have got some idea for the game :
First, when temperature is good, green (forest) would appear on the planet. Just aesthetic, no real function.
Secondly, 100% Water Planets would be a giant bubble floating in space, and It would be destroyed by too huge heat, or turn completely frozen.
I also think an "atmosphere composition" would be good. Forestd would increase oxygen.
And finally, atmosphere, forest and ocean color editor, to make custom and fun planets !
Tell me what do you think !

But yeah great idea to create a custom planet

First, when temperature is good, green (forest) would appear on the planet. Just aesthetic, no real function./Yeah, I think this is planned to be implemented. But there a ton of other factors that have to be right if you want life.

Secondly, 100% Water Planets would be a giant bubble floating in space, and It would be destroyed by too huge heat, or turn completely frozen./ Actually, planets made from completely water would be so heavy that the pressure on the inside would turn to ice. It would be an actually planet. Also, even if this wasn't so, gravity and  surface tension would be too strong at this point for it to be a bubble.

I also think an "atmosphere composition" would be good./Yeah, I mentioned this before as well. Who knows, we might see somehting like this in A-12!

Forestd would increase oxygen./ you never know. They are aliens, so they could convert any gas into any gas, so not just oxygen. Maybe just oxygen to start with, but more gas conversions later on.

And finally, atmosphere, forest and ocean color editor, to make custom and fun planets !/I suggested this a while ago, and Dan said that they would be implementing this soon. Chad also said in the livestream that we would be seeing this feature in the near future as well. I'm very exited!

Yup, pretty good ideas you got there ;D

Thanks ! For the forest gas conversion, you could choose wich gas turn into wich gas.
There would be a tab "vegetation" in the "Main" tab, and If the planet is not habitable, a message would say "No forest present", and the tab would be gray.
Forest would start to grow after 7-10 years of good conditions, and would reach apex after 50 years.

7-10 years? My dear boy, it takes several millions years for even microbial life to emerge!

Then, idea :
The forest take normally 50 M years to emerge.
But you can click a button saying "spawn forest", wich will make the forest emerge instanly. You can configure the forested percentage in the "forest tab".
The buttons on the "Forest tab" :
Spawn Forest : Instanly spawn forest (only button active when no forest are on the planet) (planet must be suitable for life and have atmosphere, composition of air do not matter).
Kill Forests : Remove the forests
Forest Color : Choose the Color
Gas consumed : Gas consumed by forests (must be an gas present in atmosphere)
Gas rejected : Gas rejected by forest
Percentage : Choose the percentage of land covered by a forest.

Idk, it depends on the planet for how much time it will take for life to evolve.
And the gas intake is always equal to the gas output. Unless you have giant tanks underground built by the plans, of course lol
