You will have to buy the Open Alpha and no, you do not have to signup for it.

Pretty sure the public alpha will not be free to play, you'll have to pay for all i know.

I doubt there will be a 3rd signup for Alpha Testing, but you never know.

The price will most likely be 10/20/30$ and likely no higher, so it shouldnt be expensive, but don't quote me on this because i'm just guessing.
