FP?

Do you really find it necessary to respond to every single thing posted on this forum?

My post was directed at C7.

Well it's a forum. Very strict moderation but it's a great place if you follow the rules which is essentially: "use common sense".

Here's a video of some of the new features (material hose, new material composition system and new collissions):

Great work. Earlier today I tried making another collission that looked very interesting, creating a planetoid with lumpy, irregular shapes, glowing yellow at 6000 K and then decaying in temperature, shifting to orange, red and black. Couldn't recreate it here sadly, but truly some cool features!

Tried again... Colliding Mercury into Earth managed to form an irregularly-shaped Earth fragment seen here. The bodies seem to glow light based on their temperature (black body spectrum).

Waiiiit, how did you get the Alpha 6.7 update? Steam didn't do an update for me. Unless it's the 'beta version' setting.

Anyways, while the new collisions look great, I was kind of expecting, I dunno, it to be more cataclysmic? Although the pluto hitting mars one looked more like it was absorbing it than a collision, great to see that the radius changes with mass.

The Alpha version for testing is in the process of being tested.

I was just wondering how Bla got the 6.7 version there.

C7! :D

Haven't seen you post on FP in a while. Sup?

Hey there, good to see you again Nutt007. I was really busy leading up to before I left Squad. Is there a FP thread for Universe Sandbox 2? I'd be glad to stop in again and say hello to everyone.

I got it from Dan. (Thanks Dan!)

It depends on how fast they're colliding. The last collission with Earth and Moon was faster than the first, and the one in my screenshot was even faster than that.
In fact, I once experienced that when doing a faster collission (before the screenshot, which was after a second collission), the bodies bounced off each other, and all the material between them seemed to accelerate them away from each other (I'm not 100% sure about this).

To fix the absorption problem with collisions, wouldn't it be easier to just add the lava cracks that happen with the old collision system to the colliding bodies, and have them have 3D crack models?  ???  ;) 8)

When Dan and the team think it's ready. Sorry bud, I'm also waiting on the edge of my seat.

Finally had a chance to record a preview video for Alpha 7.

Agreed. This is a complete rewrite of the collision system (from just a few months ago), so there's still much more to do.

I think that the properties menu is getting waaay to long. It already is kinda confusing. Imagine when Alpha 7 comes with even more stuff

Could you make a video about the "Organics" power in the "Powers" menu?
It sounds pretty interesting. But "Powers" doesn't really seem to be the right name for the menu. How about "Material Hoses"?

I full heartedly agree.

I agree with Breakfestbacon, but from the video I think it's ready ... But maybe we have only shown a part of the program has already been completed for the release of Alpha 7.
