Wait, the previous one is slightly shaded, it just has a little dark spot.
I mean the PREVIOUS one, the one called Omnious Glow.

The star looks very good as always. I still think it would look much better if you shaded the planet, so it could look 3-dimensional. But why the leaves?

So? They are just leaves. I don't see what's wrong with that.

There's nothing wrong with it. :P
I'm just wondering why you used the leaves, because the first thing I'd expect to see on a planetary surface just wouldn't be kilometer-wide leaves. :)

I don't want to ruin it with a brush!

I'm amazed about the planet, it looks so great. Try to keep making them that way. Great job. :)
I think the way you made stars before is better though.

I make a layer, then I copy that layer, and set it to a specific layer mode.

Btw, the star looks like that because I did the layering thing. I should do the layering thing, merge the layers, then do the star again.

Have a look at this project - it demonstrates one way you can easily achieve the sphere effect without dealing with 3D. It should work with Photoshop 7, as far as I can tell - nothing newfangled in it :)

The first layer starts out as pure black. Then you make a circular selection and paint inside that. When done, use Filters->Distort->Spherize. That makes it look like a sphere. The second layer is set to Multiply, and provides the illusion of lighting.

I don't care. No one else will put there art in here, or they will never post here again.
If you really want me to see your art, upload it to a image site, and put a link to the image.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

I thought it was totally obvious it wasn't art... after all, it's just a circle with a stock fill pattern and a stock filter applied  :-\ I'll be more careful helping you in the future.

The only thing I can't see is the spherise tool on your red planet. I see it on the other one.

I used the spherise tool on the red planet, it's distorted near the edges of the circle, which is why I can see it used.

Why can you see half the planet if the star is almost behind the planet?
