Tell what you think, it's the best work of art I could make.
-
I wish I had photoshop. :'(
Its good.
-
Thanks a lot. It only took 10 minutes.
-
Nice. Looks easy to do :P
Better than me when I first tried a pic in Photoshop.

Looks good. Perhaps the planet could be shaded so it had a day and night side compatible with the star. The stars look okay, perhaps it would be better if they were smaller. The star which the planet is orbiting looks very good, and the texture of the planet is great. The colored circles made by the light of the sun are ok, perhaps they should be less noticeable with fewer of them however.
Overall, very well made in 10 mins.

Okay, I just didn't notice what was wrong.

I used the lens flare effect to make the star.
-
This is even better. The planet has an eggish texture.
-
I keep using the same resolution for these pictures; 2400 by 3000
-
These are poster sized when zoomed in! :o
-
I didn't notice the high resolution, the stars look awesome when zoomed in. The second poster looks great.

I'd suggest thinking more about the arrangement of the objects in your art.
This is a good concept to keep in mind:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_thirds
Of the 2, I like the first better because the off center composition is more interesting.
Great work!
And kind of off topic, but critical when taking photos of people:

Next Picture:

good, but try to make your planet look more sphereish. And the star in the glare of the sun looks the best, make them like that. ;D

I can't make it spherical. I don't know how to.
-
Make it in sumopaint then
-
I still don't know how, even in Sumopaint.
-
Here, let me make one for you in a bit.
-
Here, like this... You use the sphere creator tool. Under 3d in filter.
Btw, I forgot, you can't see other stars in space. Look at pictures on the moon! It's too "bright" or something.
http://www.sumopaint.com/image/?id=494611
-
I don't want that. I need to use Photoshop.
-
ok. sure. ::)
-
Star and Planet, no stars in the background.
It is a dry plant filled planet.
Enjoy!
-
You're great at making the textures and stars. But I think the planets need to be shaded, so they look round and not flat. Try to make the side turned away from the star darker, and perhaps the area directly facing the star brighter.
I used a spraypaint brush in Photofiltre to make this. You have to lock the planet in a circle so you can't draw outside it though. I don't know how to make it in Photoshop 7, since I don't have it (doesn't it cost money?).
Here is a quick example:
-
Whoops! I didn't notice that. I will always do that next time!
-
Wait, the previous one is slightly shaded, it just has a little dark spot.
-
Great. :)
Btw, the file you uploaded before, which was 2400x3000 pixels... I think it was too big or something. I couldn't view the image, and the file was empty if I downloaded it (so I could only use the preview, which is sad if the file is much larger and more detailed).
An image with a size of perhaps like 1200x1500 might make it, it will take up most of people's screens anyways, so the only difference is when you zoom in.
-
Wait, the previous one is slightly shaded, it just has a little dark spot.
I mean the PREVIOUS one, the one called Omnious Glow.
-
Yes it is, try to make that shading alot stronger on the next one. :)
-
I can't! I am using the lighting effect.
-
Check out my new creation "Brown Planet" on DeviantArt!

Watch out, it's 30.9 MB!
-
The star looks very good as always. I still think it would look much better if you shaded the planet, so it could look 3-dimensional. But why the leaves?
-
So? They are just leaves. I don't see what's wrong with that.
-
There's nothing wrong with it. :P
I'm just wondering why you used the leaves, because the first thing I'd expect to see on a planetary surface just wouldn't be kilometer-wide leaves. :)
-
Because that's what I use.
-

I don't want to ruin it with a brush!
-
Ctrl+Z ;)
-
You will be amazed.
-
I'm amazed about the planet, it looks so great. Try to keep making them that way. Great job. :)
I think the way you made stars before is better though.
-
Yeah, I agree.
-
I make a layer, then I copy that layer, and set it to a specific layer mode.
-

Btw, the star looks like that because I did the layering thing. I should do the layering thing, merge the layers, then do the star again.
-
Have a look at this project - it demonstrates one way you can easily achieve the sphere effect without dealing with 3D. It should work with Photoshop 7, as far as I can tell - nothing newfangled in it :)
The first layer starts out as pure black. Then you make a circular selection and paint inside that. When done, use Filters->Distort->Spherize. That makes it look like a sphere. The second layer is set to Multiply, and provides the illusion of lighting.

I don't care. No one else will put there art in here, or they will never post here again.
If you really want me to see your art, upload it to a image site, and put a link to the image.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
-
I thought it was totally obvious it wasn't art... after all, it's just a circle with a stock fill pattern and a stock filter applied :-\ I'll be more careful helping you in the future.
-
Good job deoxy. *sarcasm*
-
Nice move... * cough *
-
Laura is helpful, my art is a lot better since she told me that tip.
Sorry, I save them as Pngs, which is why you can't see them if you click on them.
-
which is why you can't see them
The only thing I can't see is the spherise tool on your red planet. I see it on the other one.
-

I used the spherise tool on the red planet, it's distorted near the edges of the circle, which is why I can see it used.
-
Why can you see half the planet if the star is almost behind the planet?
-
Here's the JPEG!
-

It's NOT behind the planet.
-
I never said it was. It's not 90 degrees to it either. So right back at ya.

Whatever, it's just art, art isn't perfect. So right back at YA again.

Feedback and suggestions are better than criticism alone.
It's looking better.
I suggest considering composition next. Rule of thirds is a good place to start: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_thirds

I like random positions of the objects though.

I like random positions of the objects though.
You often have an object in or near the center. Try randomly positioning them following the rule of thirds.
http://digital-photography-school.com/rule-of-thirds
Or follow the Golden Mean:

These are not facts, just new ways to think about making art.

Yeah and what about if I don't want to use them? I don't have to use them.

Anyone want some photography? Here's "Tuscany". Not photoshopped in any way, and it's placed just right into the rule of thirds, yet I didn't plan for it.
-
Is that near your house. Epic. It ish very deserty.
I shall post my epic pics of geysers and meadows, and rocks, and forests from Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana in my trip topic.
-
It looks very artistic or something with the building on the left. I thought it was Photoshopped or edited somehow or maybe something like a very realistic render at first.

That building on the left is a part of our house that is not built yet (we're expanding our house).

Yay!!!!!!! Good for you. It's just wood. 2x4s or 2x6s?
