idk I just think it should be more of a community thing instead of 2-3 people determining everything
it probably should be but no one is doing anything

also manydistant is cute we need a white ice giant :(

I think this looks too similar to our solar system - like Juptur, Septuhn, Octane and Manydistant are too similar to Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
I'm not very fond of the names, but I'm not sure which are serious proposals and which are just temporary.
I don't think we should copy the -versalis everywhere, so I'd not call our star Solarversalis. I'm fine with having some inner lava rocky planets, that seems interesting. I wouldn't call a planet Vulcan, it was already the name of a hypothetical planet in our solar system. I'd also avoid Juptur and possibly Septuhn because they seem similar to Jupiter and Saturn, and Octane because it's the name of a molecule and I just don't really think it's a good name for a planet.

I'm not really coming up with new ideas for the solar system because I'm not really interested in designing it all atm, but I don't really know when I would so I guess I'll just comment on your proposals sometimes.

A question though is if we'll have common names for planets, or if every language will have their own words for the planets, in which case I'm not sure it makes sense to speak of official planet names. If -versalis gets dropped in everywhere and I end up disagreeing a lot with the names I might just give them Blaxian names for Blaist Blaland. The planet names I came up with for my original solar system in 2009 before Universalis:

Star: Pola
Kronaxo: Lava world
Ziva: Earth-like with life (but not civilizations)
Noxium: Earth-like, comparable to universalis
Uxnua: Gas giant similar to Uranus
Klanaxon: Red gas giant similar to Jupiter, 4 times as massive and with thin rings
Ixnaix: Gas giant similar to Neptune

saunver!

My idea was to have a set of names (whether the ones we have now are this or not idk, but probably not) which we all just used to colloquially refer to them, and then each person probably called each planet a different name. In Soleani, they're all named after dieties (how creative), so that will require canon eventually.

If I only knew something really meaningful about planets and star systems

I can just throw random opinions around about how I think it would look cool and shit, but I can't really help making something that is both realist AND cool/interesting. So, I'm currently leaving the work for the ones who are "qualified" for doing so. Or something.

You can still consider how many gas giants, rocky planets you think there should be, if they should be lava planets close to the star or icy planets far away, or barren ones, if there should be other habitable planets/moons, if some planets should have rings, if there should be asteroid belts, colors of gas giants and such. I think there's a lot of freedom in using your fantasy, as long as you just don't say they should have exact mass, radius and orbit certain distances that could make some of the other orbits unstable or contradict the physical properties of what they would be made of.

I invented a new planet yesterday

Named niederlausitz. It is located in the 2p orbital (specifically, 2p5), and has ccw spin. Scientists are still unsure whether niederlausitz is a macro-sized electon or W Boson. Only time, and a planetery-sized particle accelerator, till tell.

also niederlausitz is difficult to spot. astronomers who look for it report that they have no idea where it is

I just mean that there are a lot of realistic possibilities as long as you don't get too specific. I don't think it should be a problem with realism if you comment on how many gas giants you want, which ones should have rings, etc.

Shouldn't all gas giants have rings? (Depending on age of course)
