Suggestion for rings
« on: June 22, 2015, 05:11:53 PM »
So, since it'd probably kill your computer to spawn enough particles to form rings from collisions, what if you kept track of the particles in orbit.  If enough particles are in a certain orbit for long enough, rings with those parameters are spawned.

We simulate rings as particles in orbit. This is to make gravitational interaction/deformation with the rings possible, so we are unlikely to add a "ring object".
Now that I finally completed rewriting the nbody physics, you should be able to have quite dense rings, on even low end computers.
