I tried the demo, a question.
« on: May 15, 2011, 10:59:50 AM »
When i set very high speed velocity in the solar system simulation some planets (the nearest to the sun) fly away, like i'm changing the centrifugal force. Is this normal?

It can't calculate the positions fast enough to retain a stable orbit.

Ah ok. So what's the maximum speed i can set without errors (i like to change parameters slightly and see what happens in years)

Oh I thought you were talking about something else. That's because they're too far out from the Sun to have an orbit that fast.

Yes i was talking about the simulator time speed, not the planets real speed.

The fastest is 1/10 of the orbit that takes the least time. (So in just planets on Solar System it is 8.8 days)

per second or per frame?

Yes. When you increase the time step you lower the accuracy of the simulation.
