to clear up the sections novel and short stories:
short stories are about 10 - 50 pages long
novels are multiple books

and i've just rewritten 'the veldt' by ray bradbury in minecraft style, under the novels category

so i built a library here that you can see a few screenshots back.

today when i logged in the entire thing was gone.

and it wasn't even dissapeared in the order that i built the library; it was just erased for except for a pillar that i built in parts.

can bla check this to see if it was a grief or something

no most of it was netherbrick and chests, there was wool and wood but no way that could have caught on fire.

ok thanks i'll use the coal but i probably won't be building anything with it for a while because stuff i build around the quarry where the atrium to plan has a tendency to dissapear, including torches that i've layed out and also the library.

also is there any chance of recovering the ~12 stacks of netherbrick, 2 stacks of red wool, 2 stacks of blue wool, and 1.5 stacks of dirt i used to build the library? also the books placed in the chests there have dissapeared though i guess you can't replace the writing in them so nevermind about those.

so i was on a minecart to spawntown to pick up the coal and then i quickly started taking damage for no reason at all and died in like 2 seconds with a full set of enchanted and named diamond armor and basically all my enchanted diamond tools >.<

You can only use that excuse for a couple of days.

Admins can enchant items in the 1.4.4 update.

Also, apparently MC 1.4.5 is going to be released next week. Bukkit has actually given up on working on 1.4.4.

The random fall damage in minecarts (which is probably what happened) is supposed to be fixed in 1.4.4.

As for the rollback causing the destruction of the library, it could happen and the rollback can be random.

As far as the libraries go, I should alter the library that I already have (and pre-designed to use chests in place of bookcases) and put in chests in there.

yeah and thats the problem because i don't want to build anything knowing it has a 50% chance of dissapearing; since the last few weeks the server seems very spastic and keeps on reverting hours at a time but this is the only major project that's gotten completely wiped.
