nebula gas tuner into stars and planets.
« on: January 02, 2011, 01:08:56 PM »
can it possible to have nebula in universe sandbox and can it be possible to a just the amount of gas and other source like metal, ice, iron, and more and over a long period of time that plants can form out of the gas and a new star system is Born out of the nebula. oh yeah one more thing the more gas the bigger the star. :)

I like the idea and it makes sense to add to Universe Sandbox, but 3D liquid/gas simulations aren't on the short term list at the moment. I've got lots of other idea to implement first.

Keep reminding me. Let me know if you have ideas for how this would work or how awesome its implementation could be.

I just realized coding this seems almost impossible to me. >=.=>

Which part? :)

I wouldn't have imagined that I'd ever be able to create something like Universe Sandbox, but I have through slow incremental change and improvements.

Instead of creating the perfect system of keyboard input 2 years ago I wrote something that was simply good enough and today I made some modifications to it to better handle input when the frame rate was really slow.

Instead of making labels fade in and out when you hover over them I just make the work and today I used modified selection code along with smooth fading code to make hovering over labels as cool as I've always wanted them to be.

It's all about taking a huge problem and breaking it into really small chunks then tackling each chunk one by one.

Planets and Idols (or whatever it is) has a lot of gas effects.
I'd say not do it to keep processor requirements down. ;) Then it wouldn't be able to run on my computer if you did that.
