Is anyone having trouble with the auto update system?

If so...
Go into Options and hit the button "Fix Broken Auto Updates".
The go back to the main menu and click the link "Check for updates".

Is auto update suppose to check for updates on start up? If so it didn't, but it did update after I hit Check for updates!

Yes. It is supposed to check every time you run the program. That's strange. I'm glad it worked after you clicked on it.

I did add some better checks in the latest version to report when there was a problem (instead of just being silent like it was in your case).
