Game crashes right after opening

I'm running just bought US2 a few minutes ago on a Mac, but whenever I click "Launch" in Steam it shuts down just a second or two afterwards. If I try to re-open it, it says "Failed to start game (App already running)", even though the game clearly isn't running. I've tried deleting the local contents, but it's not working. Help is much appreciated! Thanks in advance
