The pirates can have fun with Alpha 5

Since Alpha 6 the application requires a valid steam key (and won't run outside of steam).

Yeah. This is the 2nd incident of pirating of the Alpha that we've discovered.

Here's what I wrote in the comments of that file:

Ah this is pretty awful still, that one of our testers, each with the desire to aid the game's development would do such a thing.. If only there was a way to find out who and stop them. But I suppose when the time comes you cant stop them all. Hope they enjoy Alpha 5..

How can we report them if we don't know who is doing it? Might not even be someone on the forum.

This kind of thing is why NDAs exist.

Not worth the trouble, really. I've already spent more time thinking about this than it was worth.

Even if they signed an NDA, I'd have to figure out who did it, and then what? Anyway... disappointing, and whoever it is should feel bad (removing the link but telling people to PM them), but I'm not going to flip out about it.

Anyway... back to making an awesome simulator!

Did someone say something about connecting two dice together with spider silk?

if the alpha had cost money,they will pirate it with more reason but,this was given away for free to people ho has signed into the "campaign" of the alpha

Although i hate him for spoiling it fr anyone that downloads it, i'm pretty sure this is a good thing becuase:
A: Awesome Dan made it steam only
B: the piraters will be tempted to buy the final release
C: they'll tell their non-pirating friends
D: the dev team will get huge amounts of money for developing more!

I don't think that's being fair to [user name removed by Dan] - that's not evidence that he pirated it at all. I think it's a bad idea to start accusing random people in public. That way we're just going to spread distrust and enmity.

Let's be careful about pointing fingers without evidence...

Someone's motivation to post something like this is never 100% clear and isn't necessarily with any malice.

And it's hard to claim that their actions hurt the project given that you can't buy it yet.

I'm not angry about this because it's just not worth it.
