1: One star
2: Two stars
3: Three stars

I'm open to having another star that's less than a light-year away, but where do we define the barrier between one and two stars in the poll? Two stars is simply when they orbit a common center of mass? The first thing I imagined when I read two stars were two stars within the orbit of the planet orbiting their common center of mass. If the other star is much further out than the planets as in several 100 AU and the two stars orbit their common center of mass... I think I'd still call the planetary system itself a one star system, because the planets orbit one star and remain relatively unaffected by the second one.

Also could someone explain how they imagine the zero-star system to work with our habitable planet Universalis? If Universalis is a star, I doubt it'll be very inhabitable.

that was naru
i was thinking maybe we like provided our own heat, or had a brown dwarf dorf at the center under a metallic core:

Darvink, the A type star flickered. All around Universalis, fingers and paws alike pointed upwards. Then it exploded. In seconds, a force field of energy was raised, protecting and collecting at the same time. Thousands of years later, the blue light surrounding Universalis faded, leaving Universalis with no Star. The smartests scientists from all around the world gathered, planning how to deal with this problem. Finally, Dan Dixon thought of an idea: Mine out our core and place and artificial heat source inside. Universalis was so advance, they did. One it was stable in millions of years, they contacted Magrathea, and had them fix up their handy work. All was well, in an self-supporting world, floating around space time.

Darvince has stated in the IRC that he thinks we need to make an infinite number of polls in order to determine whether another poll is official, and because he doesn't consider this poll official he's voting simply to corrupt the poll.
I think we should ignore his vote for this reason.

Do you suppose it is beyond us to produce a dual system of astronomy? The stars can be one or none, according as we need them. Do you suppose our mathematicians are unequal to that? Have you forgotten doublethink?
