Good question. This is a hard one, as we're simulating the water level globally with a single level. I just asked Georg about ways we could address this in the future.

It is confusing(I've been thinking about it for awhile), but is it possible to make it so that when a meteor or other object hits the planet, it creates a crater in the planet's surface AND the water? And then the water slowly goes back to its original shape? It's still seems pretty hard to do, but I'm just thinking out loud here.

pretty cool. used the ceres -> earth collision simulation. however, when i did it on my own (moon into earth) the sea did not disappear. Is there a way to make this happen all the time.

edit: and the water comes back after a while! wonderful

You have to turn off the climate model, or else it wont work.

Could someone make this world here? the name's Ilum it's about the size of Venus or
maybe a few Km's smaller and has a ring of ice particles. It's a Terrestrial class world/ Diameter 5,870 km/ Atmosphere Type (breathable)/ Climate Extreme cold; planet 90% ice/ Gravity Standard /Primary terrain Ice flows/ Caverns/ Icy mountains /Snow/ Moons 2/ Rotation period 66 standard hours/Orbital period 1,078 standard days/ (both moon's are the around the size off Ceres and are around Half the moon's distance from Ilum
