Error Code: 2.1.5 - KKAJN Error on Startup
« on: December 30, 2011, 12:30:40 PM »
Hello, I'm trying to use the free version of Universe Sandbox and every time I launch it it comes up with the error "Error Code: 2.1.5 -  KKAJN" and closes and safe mode causes the same thing to happen.
These are the system specifications of what I'm trying to run it on:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Intel Core i5-2410m
4GB RAM
Intel HD 3000 Graphics

I have tried everything that is on this (http://universesandbox.com/forum/index.php/topic,3513.0.html) page so don't really know what else to try.

And this was posted in the start-up problems after you posted the problem, maybe it can solve the problem:

hello hello,

i get the same error here - first steam purchase i have problems with.

winXP sp3 32-bit - fully updated... GERMAN version (all the NET and visual c++ packages are german versions)

anyone else with this error using a non-english win version?

also: when i rename the WiimoteLib.dll i get a proper microsoft .NET error message about some system event handler "NNKOAPOABOACJENPEJKGLHPMJFJLMLPPGIDP.DFBAMFMMDHHNEDDIAGOOKDLJBLBDDPIIEEEC"

google search for that line shows that at least one person with the same 2.1.5 KKAJN error had this "NNKOAPOABOACJENPEJKGLHPMJFJLMLPPGIDP.DFBAMFMMDHHNEDDIAGOOKDLJBLBDDPIIEEEC" in his log.. connected?

re-installing windows is out of the question, as my system does run other .net dependet things without problems and is in a healthy state. :(

anyway... new years eve is coming up, probably not a good time for getting help :)

see you next year!

FOLLOWUP EDIT: i had some time to waste so i removed net4 and re-installed it with all updates nice and clean. starting universe sandbox from steam resulted in a LMOP error (new for me)... a little frustrated i tried it several times... and magically it started working! closed, restarted, no errors. seems to work now.

re-installing .net 4 did the trick for me. :)

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the C++ and net framework
Tried Administrator rights, disabling visyual themes.
None of the solutions in this forums seems good for me.
I bought the application yesterday and I couldn't see neither the intro menu!
I sent 5-6 reports, with my email.
Could you help me, please??

woolski, glad you got it working. I'm sorry it was so much trouble. We hope to remove some of these dependencies in the next major update.

neoteros74, are you getting the KKAJN error?
Have you used the .NET removal tool?

Got the KKAJN error again after uninstalling and reinstalling of the C++ redistributable 2005-2008-2010 and uninstalling and reinstalling of .NET Framework 4; all of these uptaded with Windows update after new installation.
I hope with your help to succeed in playing before next major update ;) :D

I re-installend, uninstalled and installed .net 4 several times. Without any luck.
