it's a northern hemisphere scan which happens more often than MTSAT's southern

a northern hemisphere satellite would require an impossible orbit

Haiyan has got JMA up to 125 kts which is like unheard of for them

and there's going to be a shorter time between each record breaking hurricane as global warming becomes more severe

hey if all the hurricanes start doing more than category five is it possible that they'll include a cat 6? or 7?

oh and how do those people in those islands survive? like they're being hit every other week by a hurricane

Generally, during the peak of the season, the northern Philippines is what gets hit (the big island, Luzon) which is much more sparsely populated. The storms in November-January are usually the ones that get retired because they hit southern (just like Haiyan)
