Title sums it up. I am trying several things and being able to change the speed of the ring would be quite useful.

Also some questions that poped in my mind while thinking about it:

1) If you could choose one main factor that contributes to the ring's speed what would that be? The rotational speed of the planet around itself?

2) Can a tidal locked body have a ring? Is it possible? Can you think of an imaginary scenario that this could happen or is it absolutely impossible?

THanks a lot!

hi make the ring smaller for faster rotation, make the ring larger for slower rotation :)

For the second one, I don't think so, no.

Concering your second question, yes, it is possible, but it is rather unlikely as it would have to have formed moons that would've been destroyed and because of the smaller hill sphere, inner planets usually don't have moons.

Depends on the size of the planet though.

The orbital period of the ring. Unless you want to slingshot the particles into space, you can't speed up the rotation. Unless there is dark matter on the outside of the rings, but that's a whole different case :P.

hi, you can use the halo tool to make a planetary ring. If on collide mode it'll be absorbed but try it on bounce
