Would it be possible to make neutron stars and black holes have realistic effects on nearby objects? For example, you launch an object at a black hole and the object actually makes a realistic approach toward the event horizon, rather than just being instantly absorbed by the black hole. For neutron stars, you could make a binary system where the neutron star drains material from the other star.
