Went out to buy Windows 8.1 for my new computer today and decided to get a compressed air can to do some cleaning in my current laptop, so my GPU doesn't throttle down as often (or at all).

Took like 2 hours to take the case off because laptops are stupid.





4 years of my life in my hand.



The cleaned fan, the fan blades had like 5mm of dust on them...uhh no surprise it was getting to 100C+.



3 things; the HDD, battery and optical drive take up over 50% of the space.

We picked up more parts today (went to the border as they were from Amazon and it was cheaper to buy from Amazon US and pay exchange + tax (23%!) on them than buy Canadian).
Of the parts were my expensive 500GB SSD.



Blew my mind how small and light it was. Weighed less than my mouse (according to newegg it weighs 0.1lbs).

The shipment also had my HDD, optical drive, a bunch of cables and my monitor, which was left in outdoor storage in the freezing -30C weather for a few days...won't touch it for a while. :P

It's from Germany (hence the European labels) and I use it for laptop ventilation since I dont actually want to use it. :P

Got my free games with my computer parts today:



+ Total War: Rome II

All of them are $50+ and the final value of free games is about $230, when compared against how I payed $700 for the products that gave me the free games (GTX770 graphics card and i5-4670k), I guess that's pretty good :P
