Hi,

I just started playing around with Universe Sandbox an like it a lot!

May I throw in a quick question: in the example files that show the milkyway (e.g. the local group example) it seems that the sun is orbiting in the opposite direction of all the other particles (stars) in the galaxy. Why is this so?

Cheers,
 Olaf

I made the same experience. The neighbor stars also walk into the opposite direction. If there will be no patch this reduces my fun extremely.

I'm surprised no one as pointed this out before. :)

Yes. This is incorrect and will be fixed in a future update (maybe the next one).

In the meantime... You can always select the Sun and then reverse the velocity. (click in the 'Total Vel' textbox and choose Reverse)

i found out that when you put a star into a galaxy, it ALWAYS rund into the wrong direction. will there come any patch in the future in this case?

Couldn't you just flip the inclination 180 degrees?

Indeed. If you notice an object going in the wrong direction, just click "reverse velocity", that reverses the circular direction (inclination I believe is the non-idiotic term).

(Hehe, I thought it was a "feature". I had convinced myself our sun revolved that way around the galaxy for real!  :o )
