"Hello I am"
That's all I understand from memory.
Desu links the subject to the verb. But what is the subject, and what is the verb? We'll never know.
Also:

desu desu desu desu desu desu desu desu desu

Nope Matty. Desu is a verb "to be". That conjugates to "am", "is", and "are.

In this case: Hello, I am a compass. The subject in the Japanese translation is "Watashi", the verb is "desu", and the object is "compass".

The verb always goes after the object in Japanese, and adjectives are considered objects in all languages.

The article "a" is assumed.

The reason the m is there is because it sounds like an m when before a b or a p.

Darvince, the reason it's there (for your... err... weird mind) is because when an n is before a b or a p, it sounds like an m. Therefore, you can write the m there...

I noticed some words usually have 'u' at the end.

No, it's "mainkurafuto".

What you said is "mainkurafutu".

That's pronounced "mainkurafutsu".
