Animations?

Hi, Is it possible to create animations and use them in game?

For example, If i wanted to create a star with solar flares coming out of it?

If not, I think that would be a good addition.

Not specifically what you suggest, but there are tools to record high resolution movies frame-by-frame.

Solar flares are a good idea. :)
