As part of some preparations for an unspecified night event I have accelerated the development of my new nether network. Despite being one of the last two hold outs, I have migrated most of my portals to the roof (only two far out east left that will remain). They are all ice roads but the 3 most important portals do have horse capabilities. Can't believe it took me this long especially since I was one of the key people pushing for development of the nether roof for transportation so many years ago.

Here's a map of the new network, sorry for how cluttered it is, I took the picture I used for putting beacons in the nether because dynmap no longer exists.


Some problems:
1) end portal nether portal is one way because it links up to the far eastern portal in desertopia when going overworld -> nether since his portals are still on the ground. I figure you're never going to go that direction in it so I can just leave it
2) swamp portal is also one way because it links up with the matolony portal. figure I can move his portal up there and connect it with the horse road to spawntown below the iceroad if he wants. doing this will fix the swamp portal being one way

the power of redwoods

2 to 2 and a half hours efficiently end grinding:


Key things:
- traveled 34k blocks
- like 13 elytras (burned through ~4)
- 57 shulker boxes
- stack and a half of diamonds
- two efficiency 5 pickaxes
- four mending pickaxes
- efficiency 5 shovel and mending shovel
- ridiculous sharp 5 unb 3 mending sword
- full mending set of armour (will have to do some anvil fuckery to get it all to prot 4 tho)

end city grinding is pretty op

I skip the entire end city except for 2 parts.
1) The ship, kill the two shulkers with sword, collect the elytra and loot the chests.
2) There are end city pieces which are perfect for shulker collecting. These are the pillars with the way in from the top. I dig into the corner opposing to the convenient way in (marked with the red dot), that's where the chests are. Fight the shulkers in there with the bow from up top, you shouldn't take much damage. You'll likely get hit and start levitating and that's good, it makes it easier to hit the ones at the bottom. I like these ones because shulkers will fight themselves so after the initial waves of attacks on you, it's fun to take shots at distracted shulkers. Loot the chests and go to the bottom and collect the skulls, usually there will be about ~5 at the bottom. Repeat for however many of these pieces there are in the end city, usually 1-3.

voter supression???

My new mega storage project started in sometime-summer 2016. The goal was to build a storage where traveling to get items wouldn't be a pain in the ass. It was demolished and rebuilt in January-February 2017. I have finally moved all my things into it and it is now 100% functional. Today we mourn the death of the public storage, collective storage, bulk storage, potion storage, valuable storage and redstone storage buildings in Aahrus. All of them have been moved into one building.



Some stats:
- Storage for 314,928 items
- 216 double chests
- No staircases or ladders, to speed up travel time the primary method of traveling vertically is ender pearl
- All meaningful horizontal routes are ice roads
- The entire storage capacity of my old public and collective storages only make up one floor here
