Yeah, it's been said in the snapshot info on the MC wiki and elsewhere that it does.

Minecraft is getting a bit to farmish, you can get sugar cane, wheat, pumpkins, carrots, potatos, melons, netherwarts, red/brown mushrooms, coca beans, ect.

They really should add more basic building blocks, maybe marble? Or cement? (marble temples would look cool), and other stuff I cant think of right now.

And, mobs got a lot more dangerous. Armour, headgear, enchanted weapons, stealing your blocks, soon, spiders will be able to climb up side down.

Time for me to start a skyblock and some down when Bla explores all caves :D.

Meanwhile, making tons of healing splash 2 potions and invisibillity.

I'd like to see more mining blocks as well, but I think the problem is that there's that stupid limitation in world height so you can't really "progress" below the diamond layer. It'd be interesting if there were even rarer minerals further down than that, like in games like Motherlode or Terraria.

we should make the world have a standard of 16384 blocks tall.
then there could be a 1:1 model of earth in minecraft
*spawns in sweden* *notches everywhere*

Ik but not legitly can you? And it loads all areas with non-air blocks in chunks, so anything like 16k world height would simply freeze or crash the game.

no it loads within a 256*256*256 region on far, 128*128*128 on normal, 64*64*64 on short, and 32*32*32 on tiny now.

Code: [Select]
General/unsorted:
Improved superflat spawning options[15]
Entities (such as Cows, Minecarts & Ghasts) will be able to travel through Nether Portals and End Portals.[16][17]
Entities will pass through instantly, but at a longer "cooldown".[18]
There are no restrictions, any entity at all can travel through the portals.[19]
Will allow fire burning entities like blazes to leave the nether and potentially burn things.[20]
Portals will teleport an Entity relative to where it entered.[21][22]

Easy fix, contain the portal in a room of sturdy nonflammable material and have it be accessible through an iron door that's is opened by a lever or button on both sides. That should contain any fire entities. Or better yet, do the fortress thing on the nether side of the portal.
