Kolno.

Blans for update:
1) Make map 1920 x 960 pixels. The number of zones will stay roughly the same, however.
2) Remove all victories but conquest and diplomacy.
3) Make military bases, extractors and artillery bases have 4 upgradeable levels. Make cities have 8 upgradeable levels.
4) Make the upgrades depend on how much tech you have.
5) Make your tech growth FIXED for every 5 turns - you can choose to spend 5, 10 or 25% of your resources on tech.
6) There shall be research bases, which can give 5% of your resources as research each turn for free.
7) Change resources gained pr. turn depending on tech to be tech divided by 10. Or 8?

Very good suggestions. I think I will use:

1 - Camp
2 - Outpost
3 - Hamlet
4 - Village
5 - Town
6 - City
7 - Metropolis
8 - Megatropolis

And btw, I think you've been attacked in AE. I heard some of my trade routes with your bases were pillaged.

inb4 formula to figure out way to optimize growth. the only problem with formulas is that they depend on what other players do. If other plays follow forumla, you have a fomulaception and nothing works.kol.

A camp and an outpost ARE settlements.

They're all settlements, and a city could be viewed as one big camp with highly specialized areas, right? :P Also a megapolis is also a city. And a city is a big town, or a town is a small city.

actually i checked immediately and my fleet was still in place. in addition, both the routes were pillaged on the same base on your side. so i was wondering if you were attacked! :P

Sneak peek, or whatever it is called, on the next growth formula.
There will not be an upkeep on your resources. On this graph you can see that it will COST resources each turn if you save more than 1000, simulating the upkeep of having a large military! :)

Oh, and yes, I think trade income should be reduced, so I might divide it by 10 instead of 5.

ok could you adjust the formula slightly to account for number of regions? it'd not fun if a large country earns over 1000 monies each turn. Or even if they earn under 1000 monies, they lost significant amount of income.

nonono
i mean if you have large country you get big income and then you're in crap because you're losing 99% of that income to ur formula. So big country be able to aqquire more monies without going into a blapression

It will because of the other factors which give it a bigger production. Assuming e is 1000:
a = 5 + b + (c+d)/10

This means that large countries will have a bigger excess from b and thus they will be able to stockpile more resources before stagnating.

I'm very convinced that quadratic is more fun. It will make it possible to STAGNATE, how awesome is that?! Increase tech or production so you can keep a bigger military. Isn't it just so incredibly awesomely realistic? :P

The linear function is just where the cost equals the amount of saved resources all the time, for comparing.

Edit: The progress on the manual so far is attached below.

It will be a Word document now, but what did you say about a pastebin Mudkipz? Could they work together without you having to download the document?
People don't have to read the rules, I will tell them if they make mistakes like in previous games. But it's a mess to edit the rules in the first post, and the 20000 character limit is annoying.

Open Office can open .docx too.
http://www.openoffice.org/
If it wasn't for school demanding us buy these stupid, waste of money Microsoft Office things, I'd use Open Office as well.

But do I just copy-all paste it into pastebin? What then? Will it disappear?
What if I copied it into a Google Document?
Also, I will probably show the tables etc. to the first post.
