I just got Universe sandbox 2 and i'm new here to these forums hello everyone
, as a physics student in college i am loving the simulator and how accurate it is..... to a point. The gravitational formulas are only accurate for a certain time period then they go wildy out of control. I realize that it cannot be a perfect representation but having a simulation of our solar system throw the earth out of its orbit in a little over 100 years is preposterous.
I still love the simulator and want to see it improve. IN the sandbox 3 please improve the gravity formulas so they work on much larger timescales. Also a feature i would like to see is planetary ecreation. You have a sorta simulation with that with random moons but it isn't ecreation. Also a really cool formation is star birth. Being able to use the ecreation principles to matter such as hydrogen sticking it in a region and letting the star go and the reason for accurate gravity is because i would like accurate timescales so that i can see the death of the star as well. Seeing supernova and formations of black holes or neutron stars or white dwarfs would be amazing.
Lets not forget pulsars or any of those things either. I would like to see this simulator far more dynamic showing more of what the universe has to offer, Pulsars, Magnatars, quazars, Starbirth, Supernova, Hypernova, formations of black holse and much much more. I realize that it is a lot to ask at least please make the gravitational formula more precise as a physics student it erks me to see that much error in the calculations of a very beautifully done simulator.
Also please account for darkmatter gravity it will help with holding galaxies together in simulations. even planets and solar systems are more stable with darkmatter. Perhaps h ave a way to turn darkmatter off as well to see what happens. Dark energy too and expansion that would be another thing i'd like to see. You can take some or all of these suggestions but please fix the gravity formula
