Version Update Downward Spiral

I've noticed: Apart from new bug spawns, every time a new patch/version is released, US2 runs less and less smooth and is more prone to freezing/up to 5 second lag. At least it doesn't crash as much.

Anyone else have this? Or is Macintosh's talent for not being a gaming computer experiencing a high in performance?
