Negative mass sims...
« on: November 07, 2011, 06:32:56 AM »
I tried the following:

a) Sun (negative mass) and earth (positive mass). Earth gets repelled.

b) Sun (positive mass)and earth (negative mass). Earth orbits sun.

c) This is just for fun: Throw a few Ceres type planets on a negative earth. The effect is amazing:

There is endless debate on the internet about (b). With some simple google searching you are about to find a ton of theorycraft, from so called scientists, space geeks, wikipedia, etc. Read them, they are fun, but be careful what you take for granted.

Anyways just wanted to share this simple idea so more people can try it and enjoy themselves.

Try messing around with negative mass and negative gravity :P (is that even possible, never tried it)

Maybe you could make a system out of negative mass only and it would be stable, and then you throw in a single positive mass body and the entire system is ripped apart with very little positive mass.

Unfortunately you can not make a negative mass system as US automatically deletes a second negative mass object. Would be nice though, I already made a suggestion in the US suggestion box.

Mudkipz, you type a negative number under mass or gravity, and bam, you have it. :P
