Hurricane Tracker RPGish thing
« on: November 15, 2009, 07:21:40 PM »
Ok, first, are you the cyclone, or the tracker?

Choose whichever you want to be.

Now, this is how you play, there can be up to 2 "cyclones" at a time, what you do is REALISTICALLY you move and de/strengthen around by editing a picture (don't put more than one for your same cyclone up at a time!) that I will give you to make your tracking map thing. Track yourself (the cyclone) at least once a day.

If you are a tracker you report wind speed readings and make your organization and put out advisories, watches, and warnings. You can make your own scale (for your organization) even your own criteria for watches and warnings. Or even a name list! YOU MAY JOIN OTHER ORGANIZATIONS!!!!

---------SO--------------

Let's start in the Atlantic. Download the picture to track yourself on, obviously only if you are the cyclone. If tyou are the tracker, you are basically text. You may change at any time. (As long as there are no more than 1 cyclone at one time) I WILL BE FLEXIBLE!!!

Below, you will also find example advisories and stuff that I am using for my storms. (Post #3)

The game looks fine and interesting. I'm just afraid that I can't post every single day - it's a part of my Computer Treaty that I am able to be independent of it for longer amounts of time.
But I'd join if I wasn't "forced" to post every day. I might post every day, but the point is just that I can't swear it. :P

Oh, and then there's a second relevant thing to the game. I don't understand it. :P
If I'm a cyclone, should I then draw it on the map and update it over time/every day? How to draw it? Just some spirals, or some intensity-colored stuff and junk-thing?

No need to swear that you will. It's recommended.

Okay, so if you are the cyclone, you will just post with any color dot you like, link it with lines and post it. You just give your wind speed and general location. Then the forcasters forcast you. They may even say your intensity is greater or less than what you say it is (even though yours is correct). They can then classify it with a simple scale, or an elaborate scale, or no scale, you can have name lists (if you are a forecster), or you can give numbers.
